I have not been submitting work I think I am tired of all that and I only want to do the actual writing part and that's funny cause when I was younger

I was really focused on trying to publish.

I know, huh? Weird.

And why was I so like that? I guess it's important to publish, but I know I would've published better stuff when I eventually sent it out if all I wanted to do was the actual writing in the first place. I suppose you have to mature a bit to figure that out?

I think you're right. It's a maturing process. Selectivity in publication has become increasingly more important for me. It's a learning process for sure.

well, i'll admit, i'm still worrying about the publishing, but i'm worrying about full-length manuscripts, which, at this rate, apparently take me 20 years to complete.

I'm with you there, Molly. Recently, though, I don't care at all that I'm not finishing books quickly, and am really just enjoying the writing/revision/rewriting process. Maybe it's because I'm not teaching right now?
